About UsBAPMF is an organization composed of corporate publication managers and directors. Our purposes are to engage our peers, exchange information, discuss common issues, and to share members' knowledge and insights from their corporate publishing experiences. Our goal is to create an open, non-judgemental forum where members can discuss industry trends and directions, career and corporate challenges, or any issue that confronts them in the day-to-day work environment. Monthly meetings and e-mail exchanges facilitate this forum. Our organization is quite informal. We do not have officers or a board of directors. We rely on member volunteers to plan meeting topics, coordinate meetings, and schedule meeting facilities. All members are equal in guiding the BAPMF direction and focus. To volunteer,

Email ListAll members are subscribed to an email list. We use it to announce meetings, post information of general interest, and best of all, to ask for help and discussion. Only members may post to the list, and email addresses are kept strictly confidential. HistoryBAPMF was founded in July of 1991 by Janet Hubbard of imagine that!. Janet then worked at Tec-Ed, a contract agency for technical writing and publishing. She met many clients who had little or no contact with others in the technical publishing field but who were faced with common challenges and issues in their careers. After hosting a rather informal gathering at Tec-Ed, Janet was encouraged to organize a regular and frequent gathering of these publishing professionals. From this simple beginning, BAPMF was born. |
